Created in 1978, Monticello Reservoir was originally made for the purpose of getting water the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station, but has since been opened for recreational use; the reservoir also sits adjacent to the Broad River. There are a couple of islands that you will pass by on this adventure. This is a good fishing lake too with a variety of species including a variety of bass species; it is also stocked with Bluegill and Redear Sunfish.
